Performance Comparison between OS Versions

The graphs below represent a performance comparison between Mac OS versions 8.0, and 8.1. The drive was not updated to the new HSF+ standard for these tests. Test were performed on a PowerMac 9500/200. These are real world "stopwatch" tests as described below. OS 8.1 scores reflect the percentage of time taken to perform a task relative to 8.0 which receives a score of 100%. Shorter bars equals better performance.

For the test below a folder totalling 65MB in size and containing 1,000 files were duplicated
