PowerLogix has reduced prices on 5 of their G3/G4 upgrade cards for both Zif and PCI based machines. They have also reduced the price to $139 on their RapidFire FireWire/USB combo PCI card which will work in most machines with a free PCI slot.

AUSTIN, TX -- April 17, 2000 -- PowerLogix today announced price 
reductions on their innovative line of PowerForce G3 upgrades as well 
as changes to it G3 and G4 lines and the shipment of the dynamic new 
RapidFire FireWire/USB card.

The PowerForce G3 cards, awarded the honor of "Editor's Choice" by 
MacWorld Magazine, can be used to upgrade the 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 
8600, 9500, and 9600 models from Apple as well as Power Computing 
clones and the S900 and J700 from Umax.  The PowerForce G3 
250/125/512k and the 300/150/1mb have been replaced by the 
350/175/512k.

The PowerForce G4 is compatible with the standard set of Apple 
PowerMacs from the 7300 to the 9600; Power Computing PowerBase, 
PowerWave and PowerTower Pro; UMAX S900 and J700. Power Computing 
Catalyst-based computers (PowerTower, PowerCenter,  PowerCenter Pro) 
at this point are not compatible with the G4 processor chip.  The 
PowerForce G4 350/175/1mb has been dropped from the product line to 
allow for the addition of the 450/225/1mb.

The PowerForce G4 ZIF upgrades  are 100% compatible with all PowerMac 
G3s, including desktops, minitowers, the Blue and White G3, 
All-in-One educational model, as well as the PowerLogix ZForce ZIF 
Adapter.  The PowerForce G4 ZIF 350/175/1mb has been dropped from the 
product line to allow for the addition of the G4 ZIF 450/225/1mb.

The RapidFire card includes three FireWire ports. It also offers two 
USB ports which allow connection to any USB devices. The RapidFire 
card, combined with a PowerForce G3 or G4 processor, is the most 
economical way to upgrade an older Mac with all the features of the 
latest PowerMacs.  It is compatible with Apple Power Mac 4400, 5400, 
6400, Performa 6360/160, 7200, 7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, 
9600, PowerMac G3, PowerMac G4, PowerComputing except Power 100 and 
120, UMAX SuperMax, C500, C600, J700, S900.  NOTE:  It will also work 
in Blue and White and PowerMac G4's for users that need additional 
FireWire or USB ports.
