Performance
In Performance the Mac mini 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo is ....

Processor Single - 74% faster
Processor Dual - 216% faster
Graphics Card - 13% slower
Graphics Processor - 101% faster
Graphics Gaming - 49% faster
Copy (many files) - 76% faster
Copy (Single large file) - 111% faster
Photoshop Filters (Dual Tuned) - 33% slower **
Photoshop Filters - 39% slower **
Photoshop Workflow - 32% slower **

** This application does not run native on the Intel processor

A note on performance. Because of the time difference between when we tested these two machines, some of the scores above are estimates based on adjusted, original data

The graphics card scores above are based on CineBench 9.5 GLHW and 4D Shading benchmarks (Graphics processor test).
http://www.cinebench.com/
The game test was obtain by running EVO2 4X4
http://www.aspyr.com/games.php/mac/4x4/

It is important to note that games that have not been updated to run natively on the Intel chip, can run very slowly. This should change as/if they are updated for Intel Macs. EVO2 4X4 appears to run more on the graphics card than on the processor. Perhaps this explains why we have not seen a fall off of performance for it on the Intel Macs. When we ran an Ureal Demo on the Intel Mac mini it slowed the game down to a crawl.

Photoshop too it not ready yet for the Intel chip. When it is, it will run much faster on the Intel machine. The Intel Mac mini will be a much more flexible machine, from a performance standpoint, than the PowerBook 1.33GHz.

Although I know that the results might be fairly obvious, I'd love to see a comparison between the Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1.66 GHz with 1 GB RAM and the PowerBook G4 1.33 GHz 12" with 1 GB RAM.

I'm particularly interested in the 3D results, including gaming, considering the Mini's integrated video versus the PowerBook's GeForce GO.

Thanks.
