Apple Computer Performance: 15 Inch Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Versus Power Mac G5 1.8GHz- Performance, Reviews - Information
Monday, February 9, 2009
The Question:
Hi Macspeedzone,
I do a lot of intense graphic work using Adobe CS3: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash and Dreamweaver. I currently have a PowerMac G5 1.8ghz desktop with 1.25 gb ram, bus speed: 600mhz, L2 cache:512k, 80 gb hard drive. I'm considering purchasing a refurbished Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz intel core duo, 2 gb ram, L2 cache: 4mb, bus speed: 800. I'd like to see a performance comparison of the two machines to determine if there is a significant enough performance/speed difference running Adobe CS3 software on the Macbook Pro vs. the Powermac G5 to justify the purchase.
Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you.
Patricia
